Open Water Swim Clinic — Saturday, October 4th 2014, 3:00pm, Rattlesnake Cove, Bartlett Lake, Arizona

Remember you need to buy a Tonto Pass for $6 before entering the park. You can now buy them online here or at many local retailers.

We will most likely split into two groups: those just getting used to open water and those who just want to get a group swim in. As always, everyone is welcome! For those just wanting to swim, we’ll get in the water around 3:20pm.

We’ll have a brief discussion prior to practicing covering the following:

  • The parts of your technique that are most important in open water
  • Sighting
  • Drafting
  • Race Strategy

Morning Ride & Kona Ironman Pancake Breakfast — Saturday, October 11th, 2014, 6:30am.

kona_rocksCome join us for a 30 mile group ride followed by a pancake breakfast (prepared by Coach, um, Chef Seth) all while watching the Pro and Age group swim at Kona Ironman live on the interwebs.  Get yourself fired up for Soma and Ironman Arizona by watching all the action in Hawaii. If you just want to come for breakfast and skip the ride, that’s cool too.

We want to make sure we buy enough bacon for everyone, so RSVP by emailing [email protected].

Long Course Triathlon Fueling & Pacing Seminar — Thursday, August 21st 2014, 6:00pm

Long Course FuelingNutrition is often referred to as the 4th discipline of long course triathlon. If you are currently training for a half ironman or full ironman this season, this seminar is a must. We’ll cover how to get the most out of your training time by determining and practicing the pacing zones and fueling requirements (with specifics for calories, hydration, and electrolytes) that you need during training to maximize your race day performance.

Coach Seth and Coach Sarah are two of only ten Level 2 USA Triathlon Endurance Coaches in the country, a certification which specializes in the science behind long course fueling and pacing.

  • Zone-based training
  • Fueling requirements for long course triathlon
  • Planning and executing a race plan
  • Factors that impact your pacing and fueling

Seminar will be followed by a raffle containing goodies from Tribe Multisport, WannaTri, and The Fare Maven.

Open Water Swim Clinic — March 9th 2014, 3:00pm, Butcher Jones Recreational Area, Saguaro Lake, Arizona

DSCN6157bCome put theory into practice in a friendly environment! This clinic is free and open to all. We’ll meet on the beach at Butcher Jones Cove at Saguaro Lake at 3:00pm. Look for the WannaTri tent.  This clinic will be CHILLY so wetsuits are REQUIRED and we will be spending a shorter time in the water than we usually do for our clinics.  However, if you’re doing Bartlett Lake Tri, Lake Havasu or an early season travel race like Oceanside 70.3, this clinic is perfect for you!

It’s highly recommended you bring your running shoes and trisuit, so you can take a 10 minute jog prior to the start of the clinic (so you’re extra warm and toasty when we swim).

Tri 4 The Cure Swim Clinic — March 2nd 2014, 3:00pm, Camelback Village Health Club & Spa, Phoenix, Arizona

This clinic will be at 4444 E Camelback Rd in Phoenix, AZ 85018.  WannaTri will be leading a swim technique and training session to help you with your race. ALL levels welcome: Beginners to Advanced. We’ll have something for everyone. Bring your swimsuit, goggles, and a swim cap.  Towels will be provided. Be ready to be in the water at 3pm.  If you’re doing this race, use discount code WANNAT4C14 for a $14 discount. You do not need to be signed up for this race to attend this clinic.
