Open Water Swim Clinic — Sunday, March 15th 2015, 3:00pm, Butcher Jones Recreational Area, Saguaro Lake, Arizona

DSCN5372cCome put theory into practice in a friendly environment! This clinic is free and open to all. We’ll meet on the beach at Butcher Jones Cove at Saguaro Lake at 3:00pm. Look for the WannaTri tent.  This clinic will be CHILLY so wetsuits are REQUIRED and we will be spending a shorter time in the water than we usually do for our clinics.  However, if you’re doing Lake Havasu or an early season travel race like Oceanside 70.3, this clinic is perfect for you!

Don’t have a wetsuit?  Don’t like your current wetsuit?  Stop by Tribe Multisport in the week prior to this clinic to get a FREE rental wetsuit for you to “tri” (har har) just for the clinic.  A HUGE thank you to Tribe for the help!

It’s highly recommended you bring your running shoes and trisuit, so you can take a 10 minute jog prior to the start of the clinic (so you’re extra warm and toasty when we swim).

Remember you need to buy a Tonto Pass for $6 before entering the park. You can now buy them online here or at many local retailers.

This clinic will just be one smaller group.  We’ll get in the water around 3:20pm.  We’ll have a brief discussion prior to practicing covering the following:

  • Adapting to cold water swimming
  • The parts of your technique that are most important in open water
  • Sighting
  • Drafting
  • Race Strategy

Are you participating in a hilly half Ironman or bike tour this Spring or Summer? Need to get some course specific practice?  Join Coach Seth for this epic and scenic ride.  Work on your fitness and climbing, and descending skills with other athletes.

70 Mile Morning Hill Group Ride — Saturday, April 18th, 2015

Need to get some course specific practice?  Join Coach Seth for a 70 mile hilly group ride.  Work on your fitness and climbing, descending, and drafting skills with other athletes. This ride will include two stops to refill bottles.

  • Race Strategy

DSCN6157bCome put theory into practice in a friendly environment! This clinic is free and open to all swimmers 18 and older. We’ll meet on the beach at Rattlesnake Cove at Bartlett Lake at 5:00pm. Just look for our tent. Due to current temperatures, this will be a NO WETSUIT clinic.

Remember you need to buy a Tonto Pass for $6 before entering the park. You can now buy them online here or at many local retailers.

We will most likely split into two groups: those just getting used to open water and those who just want to get a group swim in. As always, everyone is welcome! For those just wanting to swim, we’ll get in the water around 5:20pm.

Are you participating in a hilly half Ironman or bike tour this Spring or Summer? Need to get some course specific practice?  Join Coach Seth for a 55 mile hilly group ride.  Work on your fitness and climbing, descending, and drafting skills with other athletes. We will provide a turn by turn sheet and map at the beginning of the ride. The group may break up into smaller groups based on the average pace of riders. Here’s the route. This ride will include one stop to refill bottles.  Come join the fun! This ride departs Northsight Park – wheels down – at 7:30am, so don’t be late.
