meThe definition of endurance racing is the ability to resist fatigue, both mentally and physically. Although athletes spends hours training their bodies for their endurance events, training their mind is often overlooked. It’s accepted that at the elite level, the difference between a champion and everyone else comes down to mental skills. This is also true at the age group level. This often overlooked area can critically impact your training and races. Sometimes it even impacts the events an athlete thinks of attempting. The improvements to your performance for the time invested in mental skills training are phenomenal and something every athlete should incorporate into their preparation process.

At WannaTri, our Personalized Coaching and Training Plans include a formal assessment of an athlete’s current mental training skills and iterative work to improve these skills. There are nine primary areas assessed including:

  • Goal Setting
  • Mental Imagery
  • Self-Talk
  • Energy Management
  • Concentration
  • Self-Confidence
  • Mental Preparation
  • Excelling Under Pressure
  • Sticking With It

We also offer this assessment to athletes not coaching with us. After the assessment, you will be giving a ranking of your top areas to work on along with a set of exercises focusing on improving your two biggest areas of need.

The Mental Skills Assessment is $75.  Get expert advice from experienced coaches in a timely fashion, no matter where you are located, and take the next step on your fitness journey. Email us or Contact us today.
